Nakertaja and Hetteenmäki
Nakertaja-Hetteenmäki Village is comprised of two distinct residential areas, which together are home to about 2,400 people, with a mix of young families and elderly residents alike. New houses are constantly in development, but at the same time, old buildings have been preserved and restored.
The village community has its own primary school, two nursery schools, and a local shop with a post office – these provide services that are important to the existence of any village. The Village Association runs an afternoon club for schoolchildren and a youth club. Public transport links are found within the village area. A library bus visits the village twice a week. All other municipal services are within easy reach in central Kajaani.
